Hibernating breeding farm snails of the species Helix Aspersa are sold in bulk or standardized in packages of half a kilo and one kilo in plastic punnets of equivalent capacity. A booklet with extensive instructions and recipes is included in the small package.
The snails are maintained in the fridge in temperatures of 4-6o C, but should be kept away from any source of humidity. Their life span under these conditions is longer than six months and the suggested consumption date is at least three months after packaging.
Snails are one of the healthiest foods, rich in proteins, micronutrients and vitamins with minimum fats and few calories. Being bred in a legal, authorised farm makes them safe for consumption.
